A First Time For Everything
I’ve never been excited about a Microsoft product launch in my life and I didn’t think it was ever going to happen. Maybe something XBox related, but certainly never for their interfaces. Microsoft has long lived in the shadows of Apple in that department and have pretty much embodied the notion that they are nothing more than a knock off of Apple…until now. The new Windows Phone 7 looks outstanding and I’m excited to see it in action. Here’s a peek…
Fuse UI
Brought to you by the folks at The Astonishing Tribe (the Swedish outfit behind the original Android UI), Fuse is a mobile UI that integrates a ton of interfaces beyond that of a touchscreen including haptics, accelerometers, grip and force sensors. While all of that is well and good and has a ton of potential, I just can’t get over how awful this interface appears to be. Zero style points unless you were really shooting for that 80’s retro-arcade thing. Next!
Now this is revolutionary….
It’s not to often that I’m really impressed with device interface design and although I haven’t seen it first hand, this appears to have a ton of promise. I love the iPhone as much or more than the next guy, but they’re playing catch-up now.
